We are looking for a Department of Transportation Compliance Coordinator.

The DOT Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Department of Transportation compliance within the organization. This role ensures that the company's operations, vehicles, drivers, and safety protocols adhere to DOT regulations to maintain safety standards and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
? Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with all federal and state DOT regulations, including but not limited to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) rules.
? Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver
qualification files, vehicle maintenance records, inspection reports, and other relevant
documents required by DOT.
? Driver Compliance: Oversee driver compliance by verifying and monitoring driver
qualifications, including driver's licenses, medical certifications, and drug/alcohol testing records.
? Vehicle Inspections: Coordinate and schedule regular vehicle inspections and
maintenance to meet DOT requirements, including inspections for commercial vehicles such as trucks and buses.
? Safety Training: Develop and implement driver safety training programs to ensure that drivers are aware of and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
? Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Handling: If applicable, manage the handling, labeling, and documentation of hazardous materials shipments in accordance with DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations.
? Accident Reporting: Establish protocols for reporting and investigating accidents
involving company vehicles and ensure timely submission of required reports to DOT
and other relevant authorities.
? Audits and Inspections: Prepare for and facilitate DOT audits and inspections. Address any deficiencies or violations identified during these audits.
? Policy Development: Develop, update, and communicate DOT compliance policies and procedures to all relevant personnel.
? Record Keeping: Maintain organized and readily accessible records to demonstrate
compliance with DOT regulations.
? Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor compliance metrics and report on the
organization's DOT compliance status to senior management.
? Vendor Relations: Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers to ensure their compliance with DOT regulations when relevant to the organization's operations.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
? In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
? Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
? Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
? Experience with relevant software and systems for compliance tracking and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Certification in DOT compliance or related field.
? Experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
? Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and fleet management systems.
