Brist Mfg., Bellingham, WA is seeking a full-time Logistics and Compliance Associate to join our international custom apparel team to manage factory shipping logistics, freight quotations and costs, the importation of goods, and customs compliance.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, 3+ years' of applicable logistics experience, advanced mastery of written and spoken English, and the ability to regularly work USA Pacific Time Zone hours Monday - Friday.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics
- Manage logistics and importation of goods, including customs compliance, courier service relationships, and shipping costs.
- Assess weekly Xfactory dates for shipping consolidations
- Negotiate and arrange large volume orders/pre-buy shipping consolidations
- Review quarterly in bound freight costs from CFO data
- Review quarterly FedEx Intl shipping data
- Negotiate freight rates with FedEx
- Negotiate freight rates with freight forwarders
- Manage HTS code library
- Shares estimated arrivals with warehouse to plan for large shipments
Compliance
- Follows up on factory certificates
- On boards new factories
- Maintain records on vendor in NS
- Create a compliance due calendar for maintenance of up-to-date details (edited)
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Fluent English - advanced English (written and spoken)
Work Pacific time zone hours (graveyard shift)
Curiosity, willingness to learn, comfortable asking questions to avoid delays in processing and completing tasks
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years’ work experience managing supply chain logistics, importation and customs compliance
Textile/apparel experience (preferred)
