I'm looking for someone to create written and visual documentation for a website owner who wants to know how to log into and edit their new WordPress website. The documentation will be delivered to the users as a PDF document so that they can search for keywords on how to do things.
You will be given access to a sandbox version of the site in which to become familiar with the site (research) and then create a full document, including title page, table of contents, header/footer, page numbering, sections, and subsections. The documented steps will be illustrated using annotated screenshots.
The format needs to be clean, clear, and easily understood by an end user with only a basic understanding of computers and no prior knowledge of WordPress or blogging.
You will need to speak and write English at a C2 level (Advanced/Mastery) WITHOUT primary reliance on ChatGPT or grammar-checking tools. You will also need to have more than intermediate experience with a WordPress documentation project like this. I will need to see an example of your prior documentation work to qualify you for the job.
The WordPress site is designed using Astra and the block editor (Gutenberg). The topics to be covered will be:
1. Logging in
2. Navigating the back end
3. Content edits (previewing/publishing)
4. Adding media
5. Creating new pages
6. Adding new resources (blog, news, white paper, glossary, etc.)
7. Modifying the navigation/footer
8. Adding redirects
9. Modifying forms
If you don't meet the qualifications above, please refrain from applying.
