For a candidate whom has initiative, motivated and is self-starting. The role is to create, with VBA or similar, repeatable MS Excel or MS Access based process that Populates a standard upload csv file used in creating or updating internet listing for new or existing sellers for an e-commerce website.
Data can come from sellers as: csv, xml, relational database tables etc and can sometimes be beyond the maximum available number of lines in Excel (1.4M)
The candidate should understand e-commerce systems and be able to advise how to extract data and the nuances of each systems output files. These systems might include systems such as magento, shopify, woo-commerce etc.
The website takes data from internet sellers and manipulates to ensure:
- Listings only include parts and NOT accessories or consumables (rules and guidelines will be given although a technical background would be preferred)
- Price includes delivery but not tax
- Similar convention is used for each sellers upload file format
- Images are in a URL format for uploading
- Image files, file names and URLs are organised and matched to the product lines (we don't always get them delivered to us in an organised way)
- Data is consistent for uploading (variants on upload files sometimes take some work to create consistent data and images)
- All meta-fields are correctly populated
- The ultimate upload/update file process is re-usable for future price/product updates.
Guidance and rules will be provided along with examples of files. The candidate must be a clear communicator in English, access to a PC, the internet, a later version of Excel and access to Skype.
