Double-Edge Safety Razor Feasibility Analysis
Background
I want to manufacture and sell double-edge safety razors (also called two-sided safety razors). However, I need help doing some research and performing a feasibility analysis before starting.
Required Deliverables
Please assist me by writing a clear and organized report to address each of the requests/questions in the sections below.
Part 1: Competitor Analysis
For the requests/questions below, please provide a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet listing the information.
1. Please list the main competitors (e.g., Merkur, Art of Shaving, etc.).
2. Please list the names and prices of the double-edge safety razors sold by the main competitors so I can look them up later.
3. Where (i.e., in what city) are these main competitors headquartered?
4. How do the main competitors sell their double-edge safety razors (i.e., online, retail stores or both)?
5. Where do these companies manufacture their double-edge safety razors?
Part 2: Product Analysis
For the requests/questions #1 and #2 below, please provide a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet listing the information. Other requests/questions should be provided in Microsoft Word.
1. I would like to manufacture this product in the US. Please provide a list of potential manufacturers and their contact information so I can contact them.
2. Get quotes from these manufacturers to determine estimated costs (starting with a run of 1,000 units).
3. Please list EVERYTHING I would need to provide the manufacturer to allow them to manufacture the razors (e.g., perhaps a prototype, designs, etc.)
4. When providing designs to the manufacturer, what format do the designs need to be (i.e., what computer program)?
5. Please provide a list of potential designers that are well-versed in the common design computer programs and their contact information so I can contact them.
6. Are there any patent issues I should be aware of?
7. Am I able to design and sell a double-edge safety razor without infringing on someone’s patent?
