Our reputable construction company, based in Wollongong, NSW, is seeking a talented and experienced Draftsman to join our team. Specializing in renovations, extensions, outdoor entertainment areas, backyard studios, and tiny homes, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality construction projects to our clients.

Position Overview:

Draftsman Responsibilities:

- Creating detailed 3D models and renderings of proposed designs using software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Blender.
- Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
- Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems.
- Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
- Communicating effectively with architects and engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to prepare, review, and redraft technical drawings.
- Ensuring final designs comply with building regulations and industry standards.
- Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.

Qualifications:

- Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) is essential.
- Ability to draw manually is favorable but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond positively to feedback and maintain a constructive attitude.

Other Requirements:

- Relevant qualification in drafting or a related field.
- Proficiency in CADD software.
- Knowledge of building regulations and construction methods.
- A keen eye for design and problem-solving.
