Assistant Accountant

Work Hours: 9am-5pm Sydney

Starting Offer: 40k (depending on skills and experience)

What your tasks will look like:

Analyse financial information and prepare balance sheets

Support the Finance function with preparing budgets

Ensure compliance with organisational guidelines and procedures, and legislation

Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries

Responsible for daily bank account reconciliations, including customer payment allocation

Planning and processing accounts payable payments

Reviewing customer transactions and invoices and handling queries related to accounts

Maintaining a database and ensuring that records are complete and current

Updating ledgers, researching, and resolving account discrepancies

Responding to queries from vendors, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders relating to company information

Assist the Finance Manager in preparing financial and tax audits, and the general ledger

Support processing payroll, including the administration of salary changes, payroll tax, workers compensation, award interpretation, PAYG and superannuation.

Support the preparation of monthly and annual statutory reporting for BAS’s, payroll tax, superannuation

Support preparation of income tax returns and corporate reporting requirements

Support the completion of end-of-month procedures



Who we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is an advantage

Proven experience in Australian accounting practices, including tax compliance

Proficiency in accounting software (XERO preferred)

Excellent Communication skills
