Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Virtual Assistant to support a College Professor in managing and enhancing course materials, student interactions, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be a current or past high school or college level teacher and will work with the current Virtual Assistant in various academic and administrative duties to ensure smooth and effective course delivery and academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Material Management:
Incorporate student feedback, annual review feedback, and classroom evaluation feedback into course materials and the Learning Management System (LMS).
Update and enhance lectures and related content as required.
Course Administration:
Reschedule lectures in the syllabus and update them in Canvas as needed.
Create and update class syllabi in alignment with academic standards and course objectives.
Create and manage classes in Canvas, including the integration of all relevant materials.
Student Assessment and Evaluation:
Prepare and upload packets for the professor's Annual Performance Evaluation.
Calculate and record student grades, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Add students to DataCamp classes and monitor their progress.
Create final exam online access and manage all aspects of exam administration.
Assist in the creation of assessment questions and grading of paper-based exams, awarding students appropriate points.
Upload and organize lecture PPTs and recordings from Spring 2023 into Canvas.
Student Progress Monitoring:
Monitor and report on students' progress throughout the course.
Provide regular updates and feedback to the professor on student performance and course engagement.
General Administrative Support:
Assist in other duties as assigned, typically associated with the role of a Virtual Assistant for a College Professor.
Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and within set deadlines.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Virtual Assistant, preferably in an academic setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in using Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems.
Familiarity with DataCamp or willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
