Virtual Ophthalmic Scribe
Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Virtual Medical Scribe to support our doctors in delivering high-quality virtual care. This role involves remotely connecting to a computer through remoting into a PC in the USA and using live video chat. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and English skills, excellent typing skills and the ability to seamlessly navigate electronic medical records (EMR) while participating in real-time patient encounters.


Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Remote Desktop Operations:
• Connect remotely to the desktop in the USA for seamless access to EMR.
• Utilize remote desktop tools efficiently to enter patient information, review records, and manage documentation.

2. Live Video Chat Engagement:
• Engage in live video chat with the doctor and healthcare team in the USA.
• Use live video streaming to both hear and see the ongoing examination in the USA.

3. Documentation and Data Entry:
• Listen and enter accurate information into the EMR during live patient encounters.
• Upload scanned documents into the EMR system.
• Electronically send prescriptions through the EMR.

4. EMR Note Management:
• Review, clarify, and update EMR notes in real-time.
• Collaborate with the ophthalmologist to ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation.

5. Interactive Patient Communication:
• Interact with patients through live video chat to clarify information such as pharmacy details or fax preferences.
• Address patient queries and provide support as needed.

6. Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
• Collaborate with the ophthalmologist and other healthcare professionals during patient examinations.
• Facilitate communication and information flow between the remote and on-site teams.

7. Simultaneous Access:
• Manage simultaneous access to both remote desktop and live video streaming tools.
• Interact with the doctor, healthcare team, and patients seamlessly through these platforms.

Qualifications:
1. Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• Certified Medical Scribe designation is a plus.

2. Experience:
• Familiarity with medical scribing a bonus but not required, preferably in ophthalmology.
• Familiarity with medical scribing a bonus but not required, familiarity with virtual scribing tools and technologies.

3. Skills:
• English proficient, and ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent typing skills with a minimum of 40WPM with not less than 95% accuracy


4. Communication:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage with patients, healthcare professionals, and the remote team.
5. Technology Proficiency:
• Experience with remote desktop tools and live video streaming platforms.
• Adaptability to changes in technology and workflow processes.
• Minimum of 30mbps download and 10mbps upload
• Good noise canceling headset or if not use krisp as alternative
• Must have a backup computer and power source.
• Minimum of i3 and up computer processor.
