JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for someone to join me in my mission to help change the landscape of mental health care in the United States. If you’re adept at written and spoken English. If you’re enthusiastic, driven, detail oriented & growth oriented and you have an interest in things like internet research, customer support, cold outreach (via email & the phone) & writing then you’d be a great fit and I’d love to meet you.

This role will play a key part in the early stages of building a brand new website. You won’t do any programming or development, so don’t worry if you don’t have that skillset. What you will be doing is helping me collect a large amount of information. Information which is valuable to professionals in the mental health community (people like psychotherapists, counselors, psychiatrists, social workers, etc). You’ll do that using your internet research skills as well as picking up the phone and calling business owners to ask for information.

I want to build relationships with smart people and I’m willing to invest in your future. If that sounds good let me know.

What to consider when deciding if this is right for you:

Please be honest with yourself about the points below, I value your time as much as my own. No sense going further if the following points aren’t aligned with your situation right now.

-I’m looking for someone to work full time, 40 hours per week. If you can’t do that then we aren’t a good fit.
-At least half of your work hours will need to line up with United States business hours (you’ll be reaching out to people real time.) If that’s not possible for you then this isn’t a good fit.
-You aren’t shy about cold emailing and cold calling people whom you haven’t spoken with before. You won’t be selling anything or being pushy, just collecting information and letting them know about our free website. We’ll work together as we progress to figure out what works best, but if you’re reluctant to do that you won’t be happy with this job for long.
-You’re open to learning, growing and acquiring new skills. You want to find a job that you can grow with and a team that you like working with. This is a long term play. If you’re looking for a short term project we aren’t a good fit.
-You’re ok with accepting some risk. This is a startup, working on a brand new idea. There is some likelihood that it won’t work. We’re going to work on it for at least 2 months, that’s all I can promise. If it doesn’t work out as expected, I will do my best to find another project to put you on but I can’t 100% ensure that will happen. If you need something stable and guaranteed we aren’t a good fit.

If the above sounds good and you have the skillset and experience necessary then apply. In your application, tell me a little about yourself, what you’ve done and why this job is a good fit for you. Also, in your application, to show that you’ve read this thoroughly and you have good English comprehension tell me what your favorite hot beverage is. I’ll ignore applications that don’t include that detail as a quick way to weed out automated applications.

Thank you for reading, I look forward to meeting you.

James
