JOB OVERVIEW

HI future team member!

SEEKING A PROJECT MANAGER WHO WILL HIRE A SMALL TEAM OF ASSISTANTS FOR THIS JOB.

The amount of data is quite extensive, so I will need to start with 1 person - PROJECT MANAGER - who will be guided through my process of vetting holidays.

Once I hire ONE qualified project manager, he or she will help me build a team by taking additional assistants through the process he or she just passed - ensuring a strong small team of properly vetted workers to complete this task. I will take the final candidates YOU think are best and interview them.

This project is finite, but I would love to hire someone I can carry over to be part of my team full time as a virtual assistant.

Here's a summary of the job:

I'm currently building the most trusted source for holidays online. You may or may not know that daily holidays are a thing in America (and in many places around the world). Cute ones, like: National Doughnut Day and National Dog Day. And literally 4,000+ holidays. They tend to trend, daily, on sites like Twitter, etc.

As of now, I have a spreadsheet that lists many of these holidays (again, over 4,000 of them!). This is a rough draft and what you will be working with. On said spreadsheet you will be supplied 3 things:

• date
• holiday
• website

The information, though, has not been properly vetted. This is where you come in!

YOU MUST BE A WIZ AT SEARCHING ONLINE.

Just because any given website (especially a holiday website) lists a holiday on said date doesn’t mean it’s true.

Your task is to make absolutely certain that the holiday lives on the supplied date.

There will be times when it might not be possible to fully authenticate the origin or truthfulness of a holiday. But if you find that the holiday was still talked about on the internet and that numerous holiday sites have agreed that said holiday is on a certain date... then, I will ask for the link that BEST works.

PLEASE KNOW THAT I WILL GUIDE THE SELECTED CANDIDATES THROUGH A SERIES OF SCREEN FLOWS AND EXAMPLE TESTS... TO ENSURE BEST RESULTS, TRUST, AND THAT WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE.

STEPS FOR VETTING HOLIDAYS:

Please research (Google, etc.) the holiday (you are supplied with) extensively with quotes and without. You might find that a holiday is listed as several different names.

1) Determine the "official" holiday Name.
2) Determine the official holiday Date. If it is different from the one supplied, note it.
3) Provide the most authoritative website link to verify this holiday.
4) List whether this holiday's date falls on the same date every year or changes.
5) If it is a custom holiday, what are the rules surrounding the date?
6) What category of holiday is it?

RULES & TIPS:

• Never include a URL to another holiday website (as they are NEVER a fully trusted source)! I mean this. I will not accept any links that direct to a holiday website as I am creating my own holiday website. That would be sending my audience to the competition. A "holiday website" is one that only features holidays AND/OR includes links to holidays EVERY day. If a trade, like Huffington Post, covers daily holidays in a series of articles, that is fine and permissible.

• Please list the best ranking URL on alexa.com/siteinfo

• BUT — if there’s a link to the creator (e.g., individual or company) of a holiday, I prefer that over what might be rated best on Alexa. That would be the best authentication of a holiday.

There it is... a rundown of what the process is like. There will be more, but this gives you a decent summation of the project. That said, again, I will guide you through it when I've selected my final candidates. Thank you!
