About Us:
The Online Community Credit Cooperative was initially established for the employees of IOL Inc in 2020 and was later on opened for online-based workers within the CAR, Ilocos, and Cagayan Valley Regions.
The idea is that OCCC will generate funds through share capital subscription, lending, and other fundraising activities. Using these funds, members may avail loans with minimum interest, which they may use personally, for emergencies or as capital for business ventures. There shall be cost-sharing and risk-sharing among the members and in return, equitable distribution of net surplus.
OCCC will also aid in the development of the skills and expertise among the members through the conduct of seminars and activities. It shall also serve as a common venue for online workers, thereby allowing them to expand their network.
OCCC shall be a tool for sustainable socio-economic development with the expectation that through it, members will be able to attain financial wellness.
Job Description:
We are seeking a Field Collector to join our team. The Field Collector will be responsible for contacting member-borrowers, negotiating payment arrangements, and facilitating the collection of overdue payments. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a commitment to compliance with local debt collection laws and regulations in the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits to member-borrowers’ residences or workplaces to facilitate debt collection.
- Negotiate and establish suitable repayment plans and terms in line with local regulations.
- Document all interactions and maintain accurate records of collection activities.
- Provide debtors with clear explanations of their outstanding debts, interest rates, and penalties.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Philippines' debt collection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in debt collection, customer service, sales, or related roles is a plus.
- Knowledge in the English and Filipino language is preferred.
- Proficiency in the local dialects in the area of assignment is required.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Patience, resilience, and determination to handle challenging borrowers.
- Knowledge of local debt collection laws and regulations in the Philippines.
- Valid driver's license and good driving skills (if field visits are required).
- With own motorcycle with up-to-date registration. (Presentation of the original OR/CR is required for ownership confirmation purposes only.)
- Basic computer skills for recording and reporting collection activities.
- Local knowledge of the geography and neighborhoods in the area of operation/assignment.
