Virtual Structural Engineer - Quality Control and Verification Specialist

Job Scope:
The Virtual Structural Quality Control Engineer ensures the remote assessment, validation, and quality assurance of structural elements within our real estate development projects. This role requires a profound understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, virtual collaboration with on-site stakeholders, and consistent adherence to global industry standards, emphasizing a checks and balances system.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Remote Design Review & Verification:
• Examine and validate structural designs and drawings shared by the on-site team.
• Compare designs with global industry standards, local codes, and project parameters.
• Provide remote expertise to validate foundational and structural decisions.
2. Collaboration & Coordination:
• Offer virtual assistance and maintain open communication with on-site engineers.
• Collaborate with the on-site Civil/Structural Project Engineer for an in-depth review process.
• Act as a remote verification point for critical structural choices.
3. Site Development & Infrastructure Consultation:
• Evaluate site development tasks and infrastructure designs provided by on-site engineers.
• Suggest improvements or modifications based on remote analysis and global best practices.
4. BOQ & Cost Verification:
• Review the structural Bill of Quantities (BOQ) prepared by the on-site team.
• Ensure cost estimations related to structural elements are comprehensive and accurate.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
• Keep digital records of all reviews, feedback, and validations.
• Regularly report any potential issues, suggesting methods for resolution.
• Coordinate virtually with the on-site team to ensure problems are tackled promptly.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a Master’s degree being advantageous.
• At least 7 years of experience, with a preference for those with 2+ years in remote/virtual roles.
• Deep understanding of global civil and structural codes and best practices.
• Skilled in using cloud-based collaboration tools.
• Outstanding virtual communication skills with proficiency in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
• Professional certifications in structural engineering, quality assurance, or related areas are desired.
