Health Reporters

Who We Want:

TechTimes is looking for health news reporters to join its continuous news desk team. The reporter will be a key contributor to the site, specifically working with an editor to develop, pitch and write daily health-related content for the health vertical of techtimes. Good knowledge of and a passion for health and medical topics, excellent reporting skills, and social media best practices are a must.

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work independently under tight deadlines, as well as collaborating as part of a team. He/she must have expertise in writing on various health issues (including drugs and treatments, medical research, healthy living, family & pregnancy, super foods, weight loss and diet, mental and physical health, and diseases and illnesses), coupled with solid news judgment and the ability to use social media as a source for content as well as a tool for audience engagement.

Qualification/Requirements:

- Idea generation and excellent research and writing skills
- Solid understanding of what's trending/viral in health, with "a finger on the pulse of the Internet"
- Expertise in use of social networks, online forums, SEO, etc. to draw and engage readers
- Must be able to write 5-6 stories daily, 6 days a week - Monday-Saturday (or Monday-Friday and Sunday)
- Excellent communication and multimedia skills to form interesting, compelling and unique/original stories using images, gifs, video, headlines and other publishing elements
- Prolific writer and a creative storyteller
- Proven track record of writing news, features, or scoops on health-related topics with viral potential
- At least 1 year online reporting/writing experience on health topics

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to submitting your writing samples, you are required to take a writing test (link below). The applicant must be ready and willing to take the accompanying test and submit his/her test with the cover letter and resume. Only those who successfully pass the test, will be considered for the position. Those who fail the test will be compensated for their efforts. Applicants who refuse to take the test will not be considered for the position.
