The Marketing Ads Compliance Officer is in charge of examining and approving marketing materials to make sure they adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. They collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that advertising campaigns align with company policies and guidelines. The role involves meticulous evaluation of content, claims, and messaging to maintain transparency, accuracy, and credibility in advertising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review Marketing Materials:
Conduct thorough reviews of marketing materials, including advertisements, promotions, web content, and social media posts, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Evaluate claims, disclosures, visual elements, and language used in marketing materials to ensure accuracy and truthfulness.
2. Compliance Assurance:
Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to advertising and marketing.
Provide guidance to marketing teams on compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry best practices.
3. Legal Compliance:
Collaborate with global legal teams to ensure that marketing materials adhere to legal requirements, copyrights, trademarks, intellectual property rights, and other legal obligations. Address potential compliance risks and escalations from users and merchants.
4. Policy Development and Implementation:
Assist in developing and updating advertising policies and guidelines to align with changing regulations and business objectives.
Implement and communicate policies to marketing teams and stakeholders, fostering awareness of compliance obligations.
5. Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor marketing campaigns and advertisements to ensure ongoing compliance throughout their lifecycle.
Prepare regular reports on compliance activities, issues identified, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
•Proven experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within the marketing or advertising industry.
•In-depth understanding of advertising laws, regulations, and best practices.
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for evaluating marketing content and claims.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
