Beacon News, a fast growing chain of Canadian online daily newspapers, seeks an ambitious and hard working writer and graphic designer to re-write press releases.
The successful candidate will re-write press releases issued by Canadian governments, businesses, non-profits, community organizations, etc. Each release also requires the creation of two to three graphics or photos.
The re-writer must have excellent English writing skills and intermediate to advanced Photoshop skills. The successful candidate will be trained to achieve the newspapers' editorial standards.
Experience as a working journalist or blogger is preferred, but we are open to hiring a person with the right skills and attitude.
The press release re-writer will be expected to work from their home office, so they will require a computer and high speed Internet connection.
Beacon News expects to grow rapidly over the next decade, which will create many opportunities for the person we hire for this job. The company is also committed to increasing wages once the candidate has finished a probationary period and demonstrates excellent work habits.
