As a Loan Processing and Underwriting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our loan processing and underwriting operations. You will work closely with our loans origination, underwriting, and accounting team to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of loan applications while adhering to industry regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial services sector and contribute to the success of our organization.
Job description:
• Assess customer needs, explore all options, and introduce diverse types of loans.
• Meet the required turnaround time in processing the loan application to compete with industry standard.
• Process and evaluate applications prescribed on relevant policies and provide recommendations within credit parameters and prescribed turnaround time.
• Assist with the gathering and verification of necessary documentation for loan applications.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with loan officers and underwriters to resolve any discrepancies or missing information.
• Input and maintain accurate data in the loan processing system.
• Prepare and organize loan files for underwriting review and funding.
• Respond to applicants’ questions or objections and resolve any loan-related issues.
• Go the “extra mile” to build trust relationships, customer loyalty, and satisfaction throughout the loan process by answering phone inquiries and replying to
• Assist in weekend operations.
Skills:
• Proven working experience as a Loan Officer and/ or Underwriter. Knowledge of loan processes and documentation is a plus.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Customer service-oriented with exceptional sales skills
• Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with people.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and consistency.
• Self-motivated and deadline-oriented
• Ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
• Strong proficiency in computer programs, especially Excel and Word
• Possess a can-do attitude with an eagerness to contribute ideas and execute team initiatives.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications, Saleforce, One Drive, etc.
Work Hours:
5 days a week including Saturdays and Sundays, from 8 am to 5 pm PST
