JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant with expertise in Australian accounting and taxation practices. As a remote Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing accounting services and financial support to our Australian-based clients. The ideal candidate should have extensive practical experience in Australian accounting procedures, possess strong knowledge of taxation regulations such as BAS and IAS, and be proficient in using Xero accounting software.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements for clients, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations
• Lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS) for Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts, and Companies

Bookkeeping and General Ledger Management:
• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately coded to appropriate accounts
• Reconcile and maintain the balance sheet and general ledger for assigned clients

Taxation and Payroll:
• Handle the monthly lodgment of Single Touch Payroll (STP) and process quarterly superannuation payments for clients
• Provide payroll support, including setting up new employees, updating employee profiles, computing final pay, and maintaining all related documentation
• Stay up-to-date with Australian tax regulations and ensure clients' tax compliance

Communication and Client Interaction:
• Engage directly with clients via phone and in writing to address queries, provide support, and maintain positive relationships

Accounting Software and Data Management:
• Utilize Xero extensively to efficiently manage clients' accounting tasks
• Ensure accurate data management and records maintenance

Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting function and implement best practices


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field
• Proven track record and extensive experience (at least 5 years) in Australian accounting practices, preferably with remote work experience
• Certified Bookkeeper designation is a plus
• CPA is also a plus
• 4 years experience with In-depth knowledge of Australian taxation regulations, including BAS and IAS lodgments
• Proficiency in using Xero accounting software is essential; experience with Quickbooks is a bonus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial information accurately
• Familiarity with MS Office, Google Suite, and other relevant accounting and workflow software (e.g., Hubstaff, Omniflow, OSCAR, Salesforce)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and tea ---------- mbers
