Graphic Designer

About the role:
We’re seeking a graphic designer to join our team. You’ll be designing a variety of wall calendars for our two brands that we sell on Amazon. You’ll communicate primarily with the owner of the business, and work closely with the editor and editor’s assistant. To be successful in this position, you’ll be creative, adaptable, show amazing attention to detail, and have great communication and organizational skills.


Responsibilities:
In Photoshop, confirm the usability of provided Shutterstock images (dimensions/resolution, brightness, etc.)
Execute minor retouching and color edits on photographs
Use existing calendar templates to design several hundred unique calendar titles in ---------- lect fonts that match well with specific calendar genres
Input image captions and work closely with editor through editing stages
Prepare print-ready calendar files and upload to printer
Design specialty projects, including website, Shopify store, branding, etc.

Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years experience as a graphic designer or related field
2 years professional experience in print media, preferably with a print magazine
background
Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Has a strong understanding of design and printing principles
Able to generate, develop and communicate new ideas
Solid printing experience: Familiar with bleeds, slug, crop, and fold marks, as well as with ink limits, dot gain, and transparency. Also need a thorough understanding of different file formats and color systems, as well as paper sizes, weights, and stocks
A strong eye for visual composition
Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Able to give and receive constructive criticism
A team player with a problem-solving mindset
Terms:
Remote (must have a strong and reliable Internet connection)
8-hour shift; Monday to Friday (additional hours may be necessary to meet deadlines). 2 hours overlap with USA Pacific Time Zone 9am-5pm
