Shopify Developer + Webmaster

I run a small SEO agency dedicated only to Shopify clients, and need help uploading blog posts, building new templates, and maintaining our clients' sites. Our clients also need occasional help upgrading their site, like doing minor builds from a Figma template, redesigning their navigation, etc.

The successful applicant will spend their time on the following:

Basic Day-to-Day Dev (55%).
60% of your time will be spent uploading content to blogs & collections pages, optimizing images, cleaning up dead pages and small technical issues, fixing internal links, etc. These are more administrative tasks that will require some knowledge of development and the Shopify backend.

Creative Dev (35%)
The remainder of your time will be spent improving clients' sites - updating and building new templates, rebuilding pages so they use metafields instead of hard-coded text, building pages based on Figma designs, executing on specific aspects of our SEO strategy*, etc.

*Note: you do not need to know about SEO strategy.

Meetings (10%)
We try to keep meetings to an absolute minimum to allow more time for deep work. However, remote work can be lonely and we do want to check in weekly. So to build a team culture and make sure we're on the same page, we'll have one recurring call a week, daily Slack stand-ups, and occasional other calls to discuss projects, how to work more efficiently, etc. (Video calls not required)

Design Skill:
It would be helpful if you had enough design skill and/or taste to know if something looks good on your own. You will NOT be asked to create designs from scratch. However, we often find that Figma designs don't always translate perfectly to live sites, and the ability to tweak them on the fly so they look better would be very helpful.

English Requirements:
You must speak conversational English WITHOUT the use of ChatGPT. This is important! If you have to run every Slack message and email through ChatGPT to communicate, our communications will end up feeling robotic and will not create an authentic culture. I would MUCH rather typos and small grammatical errors to a robotic, but grammatically perfect GPT response. I will ignore any applications that sound like they're created with ChatGPT.
