Bottom line: we’re not hiring a “no?code automator.” We’re hiring a software engineer who can ship reliable AI systems and keep the easy wins in n8n/Make where it makes sense.

Work from anywhere. Ship AI systems, not just automations.

We help construction companies in the UK & Australia scale from £1m ? £5m+ with ruthless systems, sharp strategy, and hands?on mentorship. Demand is exploding and we’re productising our internal tools. We need a code?first builder who can turn messy real?world workflows into clean services, APIs, and robust automations.

What you’ll own
- Design & build small, fast services (Python/TypeScript) that power lead routing, scoring, enrichment, reporting, and AI features.
- Embed AI where it makes sense: structured outputs, function?calling, RAG, agents for targeted tasks (not “AI for everything”).
- Integrate apps & data: GoHighLevel, Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Fireflies, Stripe, Xero/QuickBooks, Clearbit/Dropcontact—via webhooks & REST APIs.
- Operational excellence: add retries, queues, idempotency keys, observability, tests, and docs so things keep working at 2am.
- Keep low?code honest: replace brittle Zap/Make flows with code when scale/complexity demands it; keep simple wins in n8n/Make.

Must?haves
- Strong coding in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
- Built and deployed FastAPI/Express services, Postgres/SQL, Redis/queues, Docker, CI/CD.
- API craftsmanship: OAuth2, pagination, rate limits, webhooks, schema design, versioning.
- LLM production: OpenAI/Claude/Gemini APIs, structured outputs, tool/function calling, prompt/version control, cost/latency logging.
- Retrieval: embeddings + vector stores (pgvector/Pinecone/Weaviate), basic eval + guardrails.
- Testing & reliability: unit tests, contract tests, error budgets, alerting.

Also useful :
-Front?end exposure (React/Next.js) for internal dashboards.
- Event?driven patterns (Pub/Sub, SQS, Temporal, Airflow), basic MLOps/feature stores.
- Analytics: BigQuery/Metabase/dbt, building lightweight KPIs & cohort reports.
- Security & privacy mind?set (GDPR, PII handling).

- Remote, async?first. We value velocity + cleanliness (ship small, ship often).
- Documentation by default: READMEs, ADRs (architecture decisions), Looms.
- We don’t worship tools. We worship outcomes: time saved, errors eliminated, revenue lifted.

Remote. Prefer Sydney timezone

Compensation
Fulltime AUD $25 per hour
