We are looking for Data Annotation Technicians to join our annotation team. This role involves reviewing images, maps, and geospatial data, then accurately labeling, validating, and correcting information based on project guidelines.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, trainable, and able to follow instructions carefully. Previous data annotation, GIS, or mapping experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform data annotation tasks based on project guidelines
- Label, review, and validate images, maps, road signs, lane markings, road striping, and other road-related data
- Use annotation and mapping tools accurately
- Check work for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before submission
- Follow SOPs, annotation guidelines, and QA/QC instructions
- Correct errors based on QA feedback
- Report unclear images, tool issues, or guideline concerns
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets
- Track working hours and task progress using required tools
- Participate in training, calibration, and feedback sessions
Tools Used
Candidates should have experience with, or be willing to learn:
- CVAT
- QGIS
- Mapbox
- Viewfinder
- Time tracking tools
- Internal SOPs, guidelines, and reporting sheets
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow written instructions
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
- Good written communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and working computer
- Organized, patient, and consistent with repetitive tasks
- Able to work with minimal supervision after training
- Willing to accept feedback and make corrections quickly
Preferred Experience
- Data annotation, image labeling, mapping, GIS, or similar work
- CVAT, QGIS, Mapbox, Viewfinder, or other annotation tools
- Road-related annotation, including signs, lane markings, striping, or pavement markings
- Remote team experience
- QA/QC or accuracy-based work
