Our projects require detailed job tagging for expenses, bi-weekly payroll management, and active follow-up on outstanding payments. Organization and precision are key to keeping our financial operations running smoothly.
The Moose on Round Lake is an Italian-influenced restaurant located in Killaloe, Ontario. Since opening in May 2025, we've been growing steadily. As our operations continue to expand, this role will be essential in managing bi-weekly payroll, expenses, and cash flow to support day-to-day operations and long-term growth.
We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage the financial records for both businesses, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all transactions.
Qualifications:
-Strong knowledge of small business accounting and Canadian tax regulations.
-Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
-Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Dext, Plooto, or similar tools.
-Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
-Ability to manage the books for multiple businesses with different financial structures and varying transaction volumes.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ideal Candidate:
-Experienced in handling multi-entity bookkeeping and job costing.
-Able to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines efficiently across multiple businesses.
-Flexible and proactive in adapting to workload
-Provides clear, insightful financial reporting and ensures smooth day-to-day financial operations.
-Comfortable in a fast-paced, scaling environment where processes may evolve over time.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for three businesses.
-Record daily transactions, including income, expenses, and cash flow.
-Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
-Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
-Generate monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and project/job-specific breakdowns.
-Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
-Ensure tax compliance by maintaining proper records, tracking deductions, and staying up to date on regulations.
-Assign and tag expenses accurately per business, project, or category (e.g., job costing for Spark Forward Electric, categorized tracking for The Moose).
-Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bookkeeping and financial processes.
-Adapt and optimize financial workflows as transaction volumes grow — particularly for The Moose, which is expected to scale.
