Are you a skilled lawyer looking for an exciting project-based opportunity? Our company is seeking a talented and experienced lawyer to review our company policies, processes, and contracts for both employees and independent contractors. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Expertise and Professionalism:
- Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in employment law, contract law, and relevant legal regulations pertaining to remote staff and independent contractors.
- Adhere to the highest professional standards and ethical guidelines in conducting the review.
2. Thorough Review:
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing company policies, processes, and contracts related to remote staff and independent contractors.
- Identify any legal risks, compliance issues, or areas of improvement within the reviewed documents.
3. Legal Recommendations and Advice:
- Provide clear and concise legal recommendations and advice based on the review findings.
- Suggest modifications, additions, or removals to existing policies, processes, and contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Offer guidance on best practices for managing remote staff and independent contractors.
4. Compliance and Risk Mitigation:
- Identify potential legal and regulatory compliance gaps in the reviewed documents.
- Offer strategies and suggestions to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Advise on steps to enhance protection of intellectual property, confidentiality, and data security.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain effective communication with the designated point of contact within the organization.
- Respond promptly to queries, concerns, or requests for clarification from the client during the review process (at least 24 hours)
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders within the client organization, such as department heads personnel or independent contractors, as necessary.
6. Confidentiality:
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information obtained during the review process.
- Not disclose any information to third parties without prior written consent from the client, except as required by law.
7. Timeliness and Commitment:
- Adhere to agreed-upon timelines for completing the review and delivering the written report.
- Inform the client promptly of any changes or delays to the agreed timeline.
- Demonstrate a commitment to meeting the client's expectations and requirements.
8. Professional Conduct:
- Conduct oneself in a professional and respectful manner when interacting with the client's remote staff, independent contractors, or other relevant stakeholders.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain the attorney-client privilege.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a valid license to practice law
- Proven experience as a lawyer, preferably with a focus on employment law or contract law for remote and outsourcing companies in the Philippines
- Strong knowledge of employment-related regulations, including but not limited to labor laws, privacy laws, and non-disclosure agreements
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Prior experience in reviewing company policies, processes, and contracts in remote or outsourcing companies is HIGHLY REQUIRED
