Company Overview

-The Accounting team currently consists of a supervisor/manager and two bookkeepers.
Position Title
-Accounting Manager
Mission
-Lead the company in managing accurate financial and business records
Key Outcomes / Targets
-Establish and document in detail the bookkeeping process. Improve on the existing process, and find ways to improve accuracy and efficiency.
-Establish mastery of using Buildium property management software and accounting and bookkeeping best practices for the property management and real estate industries.
-Establish a robust accounting and bookkeeping process that ensures accurate records
-Establish a process to use bookkeeping and financial records to provide useful metrics for the operations team to use in optimizing business operations
-Hire, train, develop, and coach the accounting/bookkeeping team
-Work closely with the property management operations team to ensure they are fully supported with accurate records for our customers, both owner clients and tenants.
Other Regular Responsibilities
-Manage issuing of IRS 1099 forms to owner clients and contractors on an annual basis
-Review and audit records in a systemized fashion with the goal to achieve zero errors. If errors are found review and improve the auditing process.
-Finalize and issue monthly property operating statements to owner clients
-Gather and organize inputs for US-based CPA firm to use in preparation for IRS tax filings
-Work with the operations team in resolving bookkeeping issues promptly if any arise.
Job Requirements
-Well-established and organized home office setup without outside noise or distraction. A dual monitor set up strongly preferred.
-Reliable power and internet required. Backup systems are required.
-Working hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm CST with 30-minute lunch break.
-Full-time, minimum 40 hrs per week
-Be fully focused during work hours, do not work on other jobs, freelance work, or personal items
-Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills
-Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

-If errors are made candidate must be able to take full accountability, determine the root cause, and identify what to improve in the process to be more successful in the future.
-Must have proven experience in building and leading teams, and in developing and implementing new processes and programs.
Experience
-Property management bookkeeping experience
-Experience with property accounting software such as Buildium is required.
Pay Rate
-Pay is negotiable based on the candidate's experience and qualifications
