JOB OVERVIEW

About Bare

Bare is a technology company reinventing the end of life industry.

Bare started with a simple vision – to give all Australians access to an affordable and stress free funeral service.

We experienced first-hand just how expensive, stressful and confusing arranging a funeral can be. So, we fixed it. We launched a digital platform offering simple, low-cost and customer-driven services. Since 2019, we've grown exponentially, and so has our vision for the end-of-life industry. We're expanding with Bare Law, a leading provider of digital end of life legal products.

The most exciting part? The journey has only just begun. We are backed by some of Australia's highest profile investors, are one of the fastest growing companies in Australia, and are truly committed to making a difference for our customers, and for our partner organisations. Join us at this critical stage to help transform the way Australians experience the end of life.

The Role

We are looking for a superstar Payments Analyst to help Bare grow. This is a critical position in our finance team. You will assist in managing all incoming payments and reaching out to our customers who are late in paying our invoices.

This position requires a unique skill set of both a commercial and sales/marketing mindset. On a typical day, you might be retaining customers including reactivating subscriptions and helping customers to pay old invoices, while ensuring systems reconcile and revenue leakage is kept to a minimum. Your day will be a mix of both systems and people - so we’re looking for someone with a curious mindset and excellent communication (English - verbal and written) and analytical skills.

The Payments Analyst will be responsible for:

- Managing auto debit subscriptions and following up where it has failed or canceled to get it reactivated as soon as possible and processing one off catch up payments where a decline has occurred.
- Managing the collections process of overdue accounts with SMS, emails and phone calls, firstly managing it internally and handing over very aged invoices to external debt collectors, and managing collections plans.
- Sending customer receipts with the administration team and updating credit card details for customers, changing payment methods upon customer requests and calling customers before credit cards expire.
- Continuous process improvement to improve the collections process, reduce subscription cancellations to eventually automate these processes and create workflows in systems that fix these issues quickly.
- Monthly and weekly reporting on churn, collections and analysis of cash inflows by product and on invoices, days from invoice to payment.
- Creation of adhoc prepaid statements of installments made, completion letters and other payment related customer communication as and when required by the business..

Our ideal candidate will have:

- Able to handle a fast paced environment and be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise.
- Focus on the task at hand whilst on the bigger picture thinking of better ways to improve customer experience, and automate tasks.
- A strong ability to deal with ambiguity and deal with data that is not always 100% clean and be able to deep dive and find root causes to issues.
- Have experience with Stripe, Woocommerce and Gocardless and Xero with a strong understanding of subscription models.
- Have an element of sales and marketing in your approach especially when trying to re-activate subscriptions.
- Find it easy to work with Google suite, hubspot, and in particular excel
- Great Data matching skills and getting to the bottom of reconciliation differences.

So, what’s in it for you?

- Great opportunities for personal growth, promotion, and career development (we’re growing incredibly quickly, and you’ll be undertaking a critical role at a critical time)
- Competitive remuneration
- The ability to make a real difference - our customers are incredibly grateful for the service we provide
- A friendly, fun, and supportive environment - people love what they do at Bare
- A flexible working environment with lots of autonomy- work from wherever you are; as long as the work gets done, we’re not fussed!
