JOB OVERVIEW

I'm looking for an editor who is able to create engaging story-based documentary videos for YouTube.

Here is a sample script and VO that you'll be working on:

You must be able to:
- source high quality clips of movies, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, etc. (not from YouTube)
- work with a given script and voiceover
- attention to detail in selecting clips that best suit the part of the script
- weave in interviews and soundbites to enhance the story
- create motion graphics (similar to this: Upgrade to see actual info)
- edit music properly to create a flow

We are not looking for:
1. Fast, aimless cutting...
2. Thoughtless, predictable footage that feels placed in without any real reason as to why it's cut here and edited there. (e.g. Upgrade to see actual info)
3. Use of trendy transitions/styles that often become outdated in a short amount of time.
4. Predictable “cinematic” music... there's no sense of where the CUE should be and how to identify deeper themes other than "Tense" or "Sad" or "Inspirational".
5. No SPINE to the edit.... there's no sense of story or flow.
6. Pacing is off…. and there's no understanding of how to balance voiceover and interviews and when to pick your Upgrade to see actual infoTE:
- No agencies.
- We go by a project cost instead of hourly cost.
- Please indicate if you have a revision limit.
- Please also include in your post if there's anything else you need to inform us (e.g. commitments, work time, etc.)
