JOB OVERVIEW

We are a small home care agency with a close-knit team looking to hire a virtual assistant with proven and verifiable experience to work on complete Revenue Cycle Management (Accounts Payable and Receivables) and Payroll, creating systems for the business with a friendly get-it-done personality to join our team. We view all company members as highly valued team players, working to grow the company together.

As a billing and payroll professional assistant, you will assist in client invoicing, third-party claim submission, post cash receipts, and promptly complete the accounts receivable billing and charge entry Upgrade to see actual infoek and maintain client service authorizations to ensure payment for services. Verify and process payroll for field staff timely and accurate.

We build relationships with our payors and field staff with the first phone call- which is you! You will interact with our Administrator over the phone, Instant messaging, email, and virtual ZooUpgrade to see actual infoetings. There will be goals and quotas for billing and payroll.

WORK HOURS
The position is full-time (40 hours/week), and working hours are Monday -Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm EST. (East Coast Time)

JOB DUTIES
• Prepare, review and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for services
• Enter and confirm client demographics, insurance, billing information, and authorizations are accurately entered into the system.
• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information
• Follow up and collect on unpaid claims with standard billing cycle timeframe
• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with the contracted rate
• Invoice private pay clients
• Invoice payors
• Call and write clients in the arrears
• Post payments
• Review unpaid accounts to determine the status and appropriate action required for payment and follow through until payment is received.
• Reconcile payments
• Contact insurance company payers utilizing insurance web portals and phone calls to retrieve claim status
• Send corrected claims, reconsideration, and appeals to insurance as needed
• Notify the Administrator of reoccurring issues or errors
• Follow-up on outstanding claims every two weeks
• Research appeal status if no correspondence has been received within 14 days
• Assist with the payroll process
• Audit timecard records and identifies discrepancies
• Processes payroll withholding amounts
• Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll
• Pursue relevant training and development opportunities
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.






REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience as Virtual Assistant in Billing and Payroll or a relevant role
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred
• Perfect or almost perfect English speaking skills. Do not apply if you have a heavy accent.
• Strong writing skills
• Knowledge of what you can or can't ask when phone screening applicants (basic HR laws of United States)
• 1 year billing experience
• 2 computers
• Wired, reliable, and high-speed internet connection. (15-25mbps)
• Noise cancellation Headset with Microphone
• Quiet home or office space
• Familiarity with current technologies, like G-Suite and Asana
• Excellent phone, email, and instant messaging communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
