The Role:
The Drafting & Data Prep Lead is accountable for independently managing all functions of our design and drafting department. Your key responsibility is to ensure field crews and machines have the data and files required to operate at their optimal and full potential at all time

Relevant Skills and Knowledge:

3 years Civil 3D experience in a Civil engineering and surveying environment
Have a minimum of 1 year on heavy civil construction sites
Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in civil engineering or geomatics
Be familiar with the survey function of Civil 3D to adjust survey data and utilize and implement field-finish functionality
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints mandatory
Experience working with surveyors and survey data
Experience creating 3D linework for pipe networks
Must be experienced building road corridors including super elevation with lane tapers, widening, etc.
Machine control experience an asset
Have exceptional customer and communication skills
In depth knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures of surveying, as well as the application and interpretation of federal, provincial, and local rules, regulations, codes, and ordinances as they relate to the area of assignment
Knowledge of and ability to effectively use standard surveying instruments and tools
The ability to effectively use office equipment including general office software, CAD and GIS systems, mathematics (including trigonometry) and supervisory principles and practices.
The ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, and supervise assigned operations (teaUpgrade to see actual infombers and/or contractors) to assure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
To plan, organize, motivate, supervise, and evaluate the work of assigned personnel effectively and efficiently
Easily adopt OSDCs standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all Customers, personnel, contractors, the public, and representatives of other companies
Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain accurate records of assigned activities and operations through reporting methods as required by OSDC

Working Conditions:

This is a freelance remote position and as such you are expected to work from a well set-up home office, with secured internet connections and all relevant technologies required to complete the tasks assigned to you.

Role and Responsibilities:

Creation of standards, procedures and workflows between field crews and drafting
Process survey data and compute traverse adjustments
Create topographic drawings from survey data
Creating grading plans from PDF drawings
Building complex grading and 3D models from PDF
Easily adopt OSDCs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Enrol and complete certification in OSDCs tech training Upgrade to see actual infopile information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering plans
Effectively communicate with teaUpgrade to see actual infombers, clients, engineers and partners
Maintain knowledge of relevant Standards affecting Land and Construction Surveying Function
Comply with general Company Quality System and Procedures
To lead by example
Deliver Survey Projects within Time, Cost, Quality and Safety targets while always acting in the best interests of the company
Represent the company to the Customer, subcontractors and the public in a professional and ethical manner and maintain the company image and reputation
Maintain the company image in all facets of work and presentation whilst fostering strong relationships with Clients conducive to securing future work
To comply with governance policies, procedures, or processes

Salary will be based on a minimum of 100hrs per month. This is a contracting position and as such there are no benefits provided, and you are responsible for your own taxes and contributions in the country where you are based.
