JOB OVERVIEW

We're looking for assistance in creating WordPress websites for clients. We only operate in a few niches (energy/solar/safety). We're planning to build up a portfolio of templates so that future clients can choose from pre-existing templates and then transfer their content to make it unique.

We favour Elementor and Astra and then will create customised themes so that new clients can just pick one and avoid all the hassle of design and endless changes.

Work will vary according to client demands, but here are some typical tasks:

- Take an existing theme and design, then replace all the text and images with those from a client's existing website, which might be Drupal, Squarespace or anything else. Make some changes to better match the specific details of the client's service offerings

- A plugin update causes the white screen of death, luckily, we can revert to a previous mode, and you can figure out want happened, realise which plugin caused the crash, and solve it (update, support ticket to plugin developer, different plugin etc.).

- Perform a website migration and connect to Cloudflare to make DNS changes easier. You notice that some email verification is missing, and you help the client by setting up DKIM and SPF verification.

- A client wants changes not easily achieved by theme settings, so you figure out what custom CSS will solve the problem.

- We need to add Google tracking scripts to opt-in forms for tracking. You set them up and make sure they're firing correctly.

- A technical SEO audit throws up issues, such as old XML sitemaps, and incorrect robots.txt, missing Hreflag tags. Our SEO specialists ask you to do the technical stuff as they only know about meta tags, link building, etc.

As you can see, these are all general WordPress tasks and do not require much knowledge of CSS, HTML, PHP etc. If you can write code and administrate the server with SSH, that would be a bonus.

Update: We're getting a lot of applicants, so we want to add a question here to ensure you read the full advert and take the time to answer. Whats the most common mistake you've seen with WordPress development, hosting and servicing, and how would you address this?
