Process and Mechanical Project Support Engineer

???? RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing effective process and mechanical strategy and project support, management, and engineering services, in relation to new or modified systems and preparing appropriate documentation
* Project work within a structured environment while expenses are controlled and do not exceed the budget and still exceed customer and project manager expectations
* Preparing design and detail drawings of equipment and systems, including the procurement and use of external engineering services, as necessary.
* Identifying and expediting appropriate equipment and hardware and approving vendor package systems to meet project requirements.
* Participating in HAZOPs studies or risk assessments to evaluate the safe working and operability of the plant and the integrity of plant protection and training of plant operations and maintenance personnel in normal system operation and in the diagnosis of system faults
* Supervising the site installation of systems and hardware by external sub-contractors, including the technical vetting of tender proposals from the alternative contractors, interviewing shortlisted candidates, and monitoring performance to program, installation quality standards, and safe working practices
* Undertaking pre-commissioning acceptance testing of individual systems, hardware including supervision of such tests by external manufacturers and suppliers and final plant start-up and commissioning
* Undertaking final plant start-up and commissioning
* Training of plant operations and maintenance personnel in normal system operation and in the diagnosis of system faults
* Ensuring that all “as built” documentation is issued and handed over as part of a handover manual.
* Resolving outstanding reservations and claims for extra payments beyond the original scope of work.
* Provide a focal point for Client system support contracts and spare part holdings

???? QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least 3 years of experience working as a Mechanical Project Assistant or a similar role
* Proven experience in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
* Experience and knowledge in the Industrial Gas Industry - Medical or Special Gases
* A relevant licence and certification may be required.
* Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
* Strong leadership, and time management skills, and the flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
* Must be effective in negotiation and provide resolutions
* Able to effectively communicate, build, and maintain lasting relationships with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management

* Business miles paid per miles
