Quality assurance (QA) specialists develop and execute software testing plans and procedures. A QA specialist is responsible to catch, document, and report bugs and coding errors to the software development team. They are required to be adept in the development environment, database management, and component-specific software and languages.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform quality assurance efforts on multiple application releases, monitor and document testing activities.
Manage testing for application deployments
Design, develop and maintain test cases and strategies for cross-browser, cross-platform testing and multiple user scenarios.
Satisfy release deliverables, project testing requirements and other quality assurance responsibilities.
Collaborate with team to understand product changes and QA testing requirements to deal with issues/defects in a timely
Create written documentation and procedures for application testing and
Experienced with end-user testing, usability testing, software and web application testing
Products/Technologies a Quality Assurance Specialist may work with:
Test case management: Test Manager, Testlink, Spira, QA Symphony
Defect tracking: Bugzilla, ClickUp
Load test: JMeter, LoadUI
Functional test: Selenium
Automated testing software: Selenium, HP Quick Test Professional, IBM Rational, TestComplete
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree: Computer Science, Information Technology or similar experience
