JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a rock star Medical VA - Prior Authorization who will provide high-level, customized support to our clients and their servicing patients. The primary role is to make calls to obtain precertification and preauthorization for procedures and medications, schedule appointments for outpatient testing with other providers, transcribe and triage patient calls to physicians, and coordinate patient appointments/orders.

To be a champion of this task, you are required to have experience and in-depth knowledge of insurance authorization, claim/claim issues, follow-up denials, and appeals. You must also have a strong understanding of medical terms and insurance authorization. A stable and fast internet connection is also required, along with experience using communication tools like Zoom, Slack, Google Chat, WhatsApp, Upgrade to see actual infodical VA - Prior Authorization Responsibilities:

*Contact insurance carriers to verify a patient's insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements.
*Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers within the time allotted for medical and services.
*Request, follow up, and secure prior authorizations before services are performed.
*Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, and high proficiency in general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations.
*Communicate any insurance changes or trends among the team.
*Maintains a level of productivity suitable for the department.
*document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation requirements, including proper format.

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Effective customer relation skills, ability to organize and interpret data.
*Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and ability to problem-solve.
*More than 1 year of medical prior authorization experience is preferred.
*More than 1 year of medical experience is a MUST (BPO experience is a PLUS).
*Strong service orientation and professionalism.
*Results and solution-oriented.
*Must have a great understanding of medical terms.
*Must have a strong will and not easily give up.
*Can work independently and with less supervision.
*Will start as part-time but will eventually be full-time.
*Complete computer set-up and a quiet place to work from.
*Must be a graduate of BS Nursing or any Medical-related course
