JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking someone looking for long-term stability who is available to write articles full-time during the week.

We are looking for someone capable of writing blog articles that flow logically and engage the target reader. Your writing should be articulate and demonstrate critical thinking, logic, and creativity. The writing topics are related to:

- education, (higher education)

Candidates should be able to:
- write in American English with correct grammar, mechanics, and punctuation,
- compose clear, well-constructed sentences and structure their overall writing logically and with an excellent flow of information,
- write compelling arguments,
- research reliable sources of information (including peer-reviewed journal articles and studies),
- use peer-reviewed journal articles and studies to defend and support a position or opinion,
- edit, revise, and rewrite as needed, and
- write in argumentative or expository (explanatory) style.

If you are skilled in the following, we encourage you to apply:

We are looking to work with a writer who:

- is responsive to communication (e.g., consistently and promptly replies to emails),

Requirements:
1. reliable internet connection and electricity
2. proficient and articulate writing in the (American) English language
3. compose high-quality (each article at least 2,000 words long [with no "fluff,” “padding,” or “filler” content]) writing that is original and requires little to no edits or revisions (5 articles per week)
You must also
* sign a non-disclosure agreement
* be familiar with Google suite/workspace (e.g., Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.)

* be reliable (consistent, responsible, and committed to meeting requirements, expectations, and deadlines)
* communicate (clear, effective, and consistent communication; reply to all emails and communications promptly, within 24 hours)

Job description:
- compose 5 high-quality, original (not plagiarized) articles per week that are each at least 2,000 words in length and well supported by reliable sources
- though you need to know how to research the topic, most of the relevant information you will need to write the article (including research) will be provided to you---this is a significant reason for the monthly payment and will be discussed by email correspondence and during the Zoom video interview.

Benefits:
- Salary: USD 400 per month for writing 5 articles per week (1 article per day, 5 days per week, Monday-Friday). This is approximately 20,000+ Philippine pesos per month.
- Stability: This is an ongoing job with a long-term opportunity. If you meet the requirements and it is a good fit, we are looking to keep you on this project, barring unforeseen circumstances, for a minimum of one (1) year.
- Unique Bonus: around the holidays (December/January), a box of essentials—valued at more than 400 USD—will be sent from the U.S. to VAs in the Philippines who demonstrate reliability to consistently produce 5 articles per week that meet all requirements and are up to par with quality expectations (this will be discussed during the Zoom video interview).

The workweek and the deliverables are due Mondays-Fridays in PST time. An example schedule would be one article (minimum 2,000 words long) due each day of the week Monday through Friday at 9 am PST (U.S. time)—this should correspond with midnight Philippine time.

8b. Also, what other commitments do you have? Explain how you would manage those commitments along with the requirements and expectations of this position. We’re looking for someone able and dedicated.

8c. And, do emergencies frequently occur in your experience? And, what would you consider an emergency? We have a process to accommodate our VAs as needed. For example, VAs who currently work with us on this project and who also happen to be students request time off or an adjustment to their schedule for valid reasons such as examinations (e.g., midterms or finals) week. And we happily accommodate them as long as the request is made according to our protocol, and is made ahead of time (at least 2 weeks’ notice).
We are looking for someone reliable. I understand that each individual has their own priorities, and emergencies are unavoidable. I am asking because each individual can have varying (or loose) definitions of what falls under the ‘emergency’ category. We are looking for someone who will be dependable and committed to this project full-time.

10c. Also, please explain what the research phase of the writing process is like for you.

10d. And, how do you determine if a source is credible? That is, if you wish to support a claim, opinion, or conclusion in your writing using an online source (link), what steps do you take and what do you look for to ensure that the source you are using is reliable and has accurate information? What characteristics must a source have to make it credible?

11. If offered an interview, what time between 8-9 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) [United States time] can you meet via Zoom video? Select either 8:00, 8:30, or 9:00 pm PST. This time should correspond with 11 am to 12 noon Philippines time (11:00 am, 11:30 am, or 12:00 noon Philippine time). Specify your answer in PST.
