Buyer Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Creating/preparing/entering purchase orders (PO's) in the system.
Tracking all PO's and ensuring that final PO has been received.
Answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed.
Follows up on all late PO's with vendors.
Review ship dates and cancel or make approved revisions.
Assist in merchandise shipment follow up with any cost discrepancies / vendor charge backs.
Maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
Request and track samples from vendors.
Assist with new product development and product Upgrade to see actual infoventory reporting, e.g. generates reports on inventory for Director of Procurement.
Help to source new factories.
Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications, which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.


Qualification/Skills:

College degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of Import Buying experience
Worked with 1,000+ skus and multiple factories
Excellent attention to details
Ability to prioritize/handle multiple projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
Knowledge of overseas manufacturing; specifically, China manufacturing experience
Strong negotiating skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a face paced environment
Able to travel overseas if needed
