The role of the Renovation Coordinator is to assist our various renovation managers to successfully complete multiple rental home renovation projects on-time, on-budget and with the highest of quality. As a remote coordinator, you will help put together estimates, organize final scopes of work, review and error-check budgets, submit vendor invoices, coordinate schedules with contractors and other vendors, and ensure our project management software is up-to-date with all of the latest information and updates so that the broader team is well-informed on project status. Quality control will be a major focus, where you will review photos from vendors / contractors to confirm that work was done to our specific specifications, and match the scope of work and budgets that were originally agreed upon.

Our goal is to manage 5 - 7 home renovations at a time in each market, with one full-time renovation manager locally based in each market in the US. We are currently operating in three markets, meaning you will be assisting 3 renovation managers, on approximately 15 homes at the same time. Our renovation managers spend a lot of their days in the field, visiting live projects, and you will be their counterpart in the office (remote), ensuring everything is running smoothly.

We are looking for a Renovation Coordinator who is:

highly organized,
detail oriented,
very comfortable with spreadsheets (e.g. Google Sheets) and checklists,
experienced in project management
an effective communicator, and most importantly,
excited about renovating homes to create more rental opportunities for others

For the past 40+ years, housing prices in the US have grown significantly faster than household income, creating a huge affordability gap for the middle class. As a result, demand for rental homes is on the rise, yet the supply for nice and modern homes is limited. More recently, there has also been a shift in what a home means - people are looking for more flexibility and mobility in their homes and the way they live life.

What you will do…

Create estimates and scopes of work: Before any renovation project begins, we need to ensure we have a detailed internal estimate and scope of work to begin the bidding process with contractors or other vendors. You will work with our detailed templates to create accurate scopes, double-check them for accuracy, and ensure that (1) all critical repairs mentioned in inspection reports are being addressed to our standards, and (2) all cosmetic upgrades are budgeted with our specific Beyond Homes specs.

Partner with our Renovation Managers: You will be working closely with our renovation managers to assist them with keeping projects on track, help with purchasing and potentially sourcing other vendors to work with on future projects.

Manage our Project Management Software: We are a remote-based company, and communication across teams is very important. You will help projects stay on track and help update project timelines and project progress in our project management software (Asana) so that everyone is informed at all times.

Quality Control our Renovations: Each renovation has many little details and requirements that need to be reviewed. You will help run through our checklists and SOPs on each renovation to make sure nothing was missed and that we are delivering our homes in perfect condition, rent ready for the next resident.

Scoring our Vendors: At the end of each renovation, you will help score each of our vendors using a custom set of attributes that we have defined before each project begins. This helps us stay informed on how our vendors are doing over time.
