INSURANCE AUTHORIZATION & COLLECTION SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Obtaining pre-authorization from insurance companies.
• Verifying insurance coverage and benefits of each patient.
• Updating patient insurance information.
• Explaining medical coverage to patients.
• Obtaining referrals for patients.
• Scan and adequately label all documents and photos of patients via EMR.
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
• Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.
• Follow up on patients' overdue payments.
• Take actions to encourage timely debt payments.
• Update account status records and collection.
• Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related area of study is required.
• 3+ years of work experience in care coordination or clinical practices.
• 3+ years of proficient knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques.
• Comfortable working with targets.
• Excellent communication & organizational skills.
• Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and E-Clinical Works EMR system.
• Detailed-oriented.
• Good multitasking skills.
• Very skilled in negotiation.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Iglesia ni Cristo - a plus.
