Web Support Engineer (Remote)

We have a new requirement for a remote web support specialist engineer. As part of the Web Support team, you will be responsible for providing quality support services to our web clients. This will typically involve troubleshooting, communicating with clients to obtain further information, bug fixing or passing on the relevant information to other development personnel, testing fixes, website enhancements, etc.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver an excellent client experience, either by phone or electronically by answering, resolving or passing on website related questions/issues and ensuring that client requests are answered and/or resolved in a timely fashion.
• Problem-solve with eagerness to face and overcome complex and high volume cases.
• Respond to support requests submitted via our helpdesk system (and phone/email)
• Pass on issues to developers where necessary, chasing them up if necessary and respond to customers with updates/progress
• Document responses to customers in a growing knowledge base
• Be able to execute simple SQL queries and read log files to provide solutions that don't necessarily need to involve application coding
• Monitor web server(s) performance and configuration
• Miscellaneous tasks such as: SSL certificate creation, Importing data, Google Analytics setup, Captcha setup, Custom page creation, Updating web banners,
• Being present in meetings with customer
• Recommend improvements/enhancements to our web solution (based on customer enquiries as well as additional research)
• Work remotely, roughly between the hours of 9am-6pm Sydney time, with the occasional (rare) need for availability up to several hours later than this. Actual work hours are flexible.
• We will provide training on our solutions/methodologies etc.
• Must often manage competing business priorities.
About the Ideal Candidate:
• Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
• Bachelor’s degree preferably related to IT, Computer Science and Web technology
• 1-5 years of experience in Web Development support or Web development
• Ideally some experience in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL and/or other relevant coding languages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is a must)
• Proficiency in Project Management skills, e-Commerce.
• Web savvy (CMS experience e.g. WordPress).
