JOB OVERVIEW

Our firm is looking for a civil engineer with construction experience, preferably with experience working for USA based firms. Having experience working for a government or public works contractor is a huge plus. Our firm is based in Florida, USA. We are a specialty aquarium/zoo contractor specializing in government contracts, specialty work and engineering. We are interested in hiring an engineer to assist with a variety of critical tasks in a full time capacity. You should be willing to do general administration tasks in addition to the day to day work required as an engineering project manager and estimator. Position requires 40 hours per week to start. Basic hours will be 9-5 but earlier starts May be needed on bid days. Extra hours may be required as needed possibly over the weekends to prepare for the next work week. Schedule should be flexible. If you are performing well there is room for growth.

-Must speak excellent English
-Must be good at technical reading and writing in English
-Must be able to read all blue prints
-Must be comfortable interpreting specifications
-Must be able to takeoff multiple trades including electrical plumbing mechanical etc
-Takeoffs must be precise and must be able to get down to actual material quantities
-Must be patient, quick thinking, organized, good working under pressure, good managing tasks and deadlines
- "MUST" have access to a sufficiently quick internet access. Needed for conference calls and cloud syncing.

Here are the job requirements:

-Estimating and takeoffs
-Drafting in CAD (Not required but a benefit)
-Sending RFQ’s and RFP’s to vendors and subs and calling them to request pricing and follow up before deadlines
-Using online platforms to solicit bids from vendors
-Working independently to determine where to get pricing for different specialty items then working diligently to obtain the best prices
-Submittal preparation and data sheet management
-Project Schedules
-Budget Analysis
-Ordering and material quantity takeoffs
-Writing Safety Plans and other internal documentation such as employee handbook
-Preparing change order letters and other documents as needed and placing them on letterhead and creating PDF’s
-Staying organized and filing everything, managing google drive and emails
-Other general administrative and VA tasks
-Monitoring databases for construction leads, requesting bid packages, ordering them after approval
-Analysis of historic bid pricing and price database compilation
-Accounts payable organization and management
-Preparing close out document folders digitally for printing with cover sheets at project completion
-Filling out forms, ordering bonds etc
-Workers compensation audits analyzing employee payroll and working with executive to present audit
-Creating certified payroll reports per requirements
-Filling out bid forms as needed
-All other related tasks to enable successful operation of company
-Filling out forms for licenses and pre-qualifications


Notes: iPhone preferred, text message communication proficiency a plus. If you don’t have an iPhone experience with one helps. Must be good on the phone. True full time required on American hours.
