JOB OVERVIEW

e are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper. Ideally we‘re looking for someone full-time as the company is growing both domestically and internationally.

Made in Katana (MIK) is a small but growing multi-disciplinary digital studio working primarily in the global entertainment and culture industries. MIK is made up of designers, animators, audio engineers, copywriters, software developers, and social experts - based in Adelaide, Sydney, Singapore, Europe, and the US. Our clients include Spotify, Sony Music Australia, ARN, Paramount, ABC, Triple J & Hershey’s.. Part startup, part digital agency, we have offices in Europe, Sydney and Adelaide with plans to expand to LA very soon.

We need a steady pair of hands to help us with the general bookkeeping, maintaining the cash flow of the company and help its trajectory. Experience with Xero and working experience as a bookkeeper is essential. It's a hybrid role so while one day you may be entering in invoices other days you’ll just need to roll up the sleeves to help where help is needed.

This role is fast-paced, and will require contact with clients both here in Australia and overseas, so great communication skills are a must! This is a key position in our company and you'll be working with the rest of the management team to ensure the financial security of the company. In other-words we need someone keen for a challenge and who is willing to hit the ground running. We are a hybrid office WFH environment with up to 3 days required in the office so you can be across all that we do.

Working alongside our management team here in Sydney, you’ll be in charge of your day, and responsible for management of your deadlines and tasks. We are growing in many different directions rapidly and will need to juggle the conflicting priorities of the business.

Key responsibilities:

Accounts receivable and payable
Payroll and leave processing
Routine reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions
Help support driving the financial strategy of the company
Cash flow management and forecasting
Daily communication with staff and project managers across Adelaide, Sydney and any future international offices
Preparation and lodgement of PAYG, Superannuation and IAS as required
Grant applications (e.g R&D, EMDG, SAEA)
Month end reporting and procedures
General bookkeeping/finance activities
Drive general reporting across the business
Help ensuring the financial stability of the company
Help drive financially responsible growth in the company
