JOB OVERVIEW

The Peterman Design Firm is currently looking to bring on a design lead / manager in a very part time role to help with communication and management of our design team as a design lead. This role will likely have little design required, however you will need to understand the entire product development process from concept through production as you will be ensuring our CAD and design team can create the designs and documentation required for successful product launches. We provide design and development to people and companies ranging from inventors to Fortune 500 companies and want you to help us create amazing solutions for our clients.

As a Design Lead / Manager you will:

Work with our CEO to define and understand the project needs and Upgrade to see actual infovelop innovative designs that meet or exceed customer's requirements and expectations
Help prepare design concepts in and out of a team environment
Ensure the design team understands the project and answers technical questions as they come up.
Assist and coordinate development and maintenance of accurate BOMs.
Source manufacturing options as needed
Coordinate getting quotes for prototypes and manufacturing
Be able to with with project management and assessing potential issues with schedule or costs.

Job Type: Part-time/Contract to Potential F/T permanent position

Salary: Depends on Experience

Excellent mechanical aptitude
Excellent problem solver
Ability to use PC’S to do conventional word processing, navigate the Internet, and utilize internal systems for drawing access, component tracking, email, etc.
Ability to perform from oral or handwritten instructions
Ability to work in a team environment
Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
