Right now, we are looking for a Software Development Manager to join the team on a contract basis to help us provide leadership through building and coaching people and owning delivery on behalf of the team and liaising with stakeholders to help form product roadmaps. The role be responsible for supporting the build of front and back end services working with cross functional teams in Python, Java and bespoke languages.

This is a remote job and you can work anywhere in the Philippines.

About the Role

As Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

Leading and growing a team of passionate engineers through their journey to Agile Maturity. Provide support and guidance that enables the squad to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability.
Managing employee career development by providing coaching and mentoring to junior engineers while guiding senior contributors to maximize their Upgrade to see actual infoplete performance check-in’s, collaborate with squad members on their objectives and provide a clear path for progression through personal development plans.
Owning, operating and maintaining your squad’s services. Employ Agile methodologies to continuously deliver value to Upgrade to see actual infostitute and maintain a rotating on-call iUpgrade to see actual info escalation and response processes for the team.
Collaborating on roadmaps with Product Managers, Architects and Tech Leads to ensure the squad has clear direction and priorities. Ensure there is cross-training and a healthy balance between features and technical Upgrade to see actual inforving as the team’s Scrum Master, breaking down roadblocks as well as managing communications with stakeholders and dependent teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through Upgrade to see actual infostituting development best practices to ensure the squad produces high quality, well architected and supportable code.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years of experience in leading a team.
You are first and foremost a people person who has the ability to attract and motivate top talent.
You have demonstrated abilities in engaging people in career development, helping them to build a plan, and coached them to see it become a reality.
You are a strategic thinker and thrive operating in broad scope, from conception through continuous operation of 24x7 services. As a pragmatist, you are able to distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team.
Master of agile processes, continuous integration and test automation.
A development or system engineering background is preferred, with a minimum 7 years hands-on experience developing complex systems. You have worked across a full stack, and you have experience with backend services and distributed systems.
Experience leading engineers in a highly technical and complex operations environment. Ideally, you have experience in a production Cloud / DevOps environment.
You have a strong understanding of IT service management best practices, preferably with ITIL certification.
You have an operational background, understanding and having operated in an environment based on 24/7 service.
You are a delivery focused individual who values curiosity, collaboration and developing others to succeed.
