Video editor with medical/dental background

We are looking to hire an experienced full-time video editor with a dental background for our brand-new project „Rooto“.

“Rooto” is an online educational platform for professionals looking to take advantage of real-time learning and practicing opportunities with top surgeons. We focus on orthognathic and oral surgeries, and other dental procedures through the eyes of a doctor. We have a growing library of videos focused on various techniques, clinical management best practices, practical integration and efficiency. Rooto serves a closed community of experts sharing knowledge and expertise among group members. Our platform offers a growing library of videos detailing a variety of surgical procedures and techniques, regular live-steaming surgeries, as well as a collection of relevant scientific articles, lectures and podcasts.

“Rooto” video editor would be responsible for editing the raw video material of orthognathic/oral surgeries that are performed twice a week. The length of each surgery livestream can range from 2 to 8 hours, meaning it should be post-edited into 15-20 min movie with the most relevant parts (key moments) together with related text/phrases included as subtitles in the video. A person should have at least some knowledge of dental procedures to understand and extract the key moments from the surgery livestream and craft it into a short educational video for doctors, residents, students.

Please note, that surgery videos are content sensitive!!

Requirements for the position:
- High level of English (speaking and writing)
- Previous video editing experience including links to past work and demo reel
- Video software for professional video editing
- Medical (dental) background is an advantage
- Strong internet connection and speed (for rendering big video files weekly)

Details:
- Full time only - 40 hours/week.
- Work from home, nonemployee contractor (payment based on service agreement and invoicing). You must supply a quiet office, internet, and computer workstation.
