JOB OVERVIEW

** this is not "spinning!" This is rewriting. Cutting out fluff content, reorganizing and doing research required to improve quality of information and quality of writing.

1. Give a new Original title

2. Reorganize to flow better if needed.
(probably will be needed)

3. Cut out repetitive and duplicate content. We are striving for quality and relevance. Not looking to maintain page count or word count. An ebook can start at 50-90 pages, yet your rewritten version might end up with 25 pages. As long as the quality is there, that’s great!

3. Freshen up any "outdated" or stale content. Example, if a book on social media marketing talks about MySpace, it needs to be updated. This speaks for itself.

IMPORTANT: Focus on the “How To” and not so much on the “Why.” For example, an ebook on the topic Facebook Ad Targeting, the reader doesn’t need convincing as to “why” they need to Facebook Ad Targeting. They need a brief overview, then strategy “macro-views” (brief definitions), then “micro-views” (detailed information, step by step instruction, and lists of resources, pro’s and con’s of resources, etc.).

5. Revise Table of Contents, Headers and Subheads (Should NOT be the same as original)
Page numbers not needed for Table of Contents, but nice for books 15 pages or longer.

6. Rewrite content with conversational tone.
Must pass the “read-aloud” test. Please, do actually read aloud. Does this sound like someone talking to a friend over coffee?
Avoid: formal sounding, awkward sentences. This is not academic writing. We are striving for conversational tone.
Avoid: Long sentences. (You know it when you see it.)
Avoid: Referencing the “we, us, our” in the content. Such as “I put together this guide to show you…” Find other ways to state this point.
Avoid: Awkward 3rd person usage, such as “One interested in this topic should find oneself at the library to research the aforementioned niche” Instead, say, “If you’re interested in this topic, do thorough research.”

A few grammar mistakes are fine, as long as it sounds like Native English speakers talk, conversationally in the United States. Most people aren’t 100% grammatically correct in their everyday conversations.

Do: use contractions! can’t (instead of can not), won’t (instead of will not) He’ll (instead of he’ll), etc.
Don’t be afraid to use ellipses (...), dashes (---).

7. Pass Copyscape or Grammarly Plagiarism checker by 4% or better

8. IMAGES: Don’t use pre-existing graphics or charts. Find suitable replacement and provide source citation. If you can’t find a suitable replacement image in 3 minutes or less, leave a placeholder with a brief suggestion of the type of image that should go here.

Example: [IMAGE: small child walking dog]

9. Content Examples: Some of our content involves lists of websites or software, examples of retail stores, team names, euphemisms, turns of phrase, etc. Change these up as much as possible.
