Customer Technical Support Engineer

Personal Attributes

1. Electrical degree so can thoroughly understand our markets and products - Knowledge of basic AC power theory, Transformers
2. Willing to work in US hours
3. Very good verbal and written English
4. Customer-oriented. Able to communicate easily, with enthusiasm, by telephone as well as email
5. Able to have a dedicated work area where a set of our equipment can be set up to allow them to provide app support away from any others for safety reasons


Day to Day Activities

1. Pre and post-sale application support at low and medium level-gradually improving to advanced level
2. Able to respond to web input/emails/phone calls from customers
3. Able to answer the phone and make customers feel good about contacting us.
4. Able to properly record activities in the database to manage the sale/support pipeline
5. Able to send pre-prepared but customized emails to customers in their territory
6. Support customers through the info/demo/quote / technical question process.

This will include:
1. Keeping customers under active management
2. Answering incoming customer questions, by phone or email
3. Understanding customers' market, their use of our products, and level of satisfaction with our products.
4. Assisting any potential new customers to understand the scope and benefits of our solutions, and to provide any requested information (e.g. quotes for a product, technical documentation or worked test examples, etc..)
5. Following up quotes with the customer to ensure they are as required, to maintain contact and understanding of the customer's needs.
6. Understanding the nature of customers' technical support questions, investigate, reproduce them, and reply. We anticipate that the ideal candidate will be able to investigate, simulate (using provided Voltech equipment and sample parts), and answer questions themselves, but there will always be a support network behind them.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
a. You should have a Windows 10, i5 powered desktop, an internet speed with minimum 40 mbps download and 7 mbps upload, and a backup internet service.
b. We manufacture test and measurement equipment for industry
c. We will supply a free demo of each type for the employee to use.
d. However, the equipment can generate dangerous voltages, so will need setting up in a secure area.
e. We will supply a safety light curtain that acts as protection (if the beams are broken, then the unit will not generate voltages), but employees must be aware of the health and safety aspects
