JOB OVERVIEW

PURPOSE
The controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and financial analysis. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The controller is responsible for managing the AP team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of financial and accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The controller will work closely and report directly to the COO and CEO. This position will require strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.


Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
? Obtain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
? Oversee preparation of all financial close reporting.
? Ensure that all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by the company are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate
? Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured, and that all statutory and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, which includes any governmental requirements for permits and licenses.
? Effectively manage and communicate cash flow-related issues. This will include the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits.
? Support in preparation of annual operating plan and budget.
? Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
? Oversee all of the AP and general accounting function
? Respond to inquiries from Stakeholders regarding financial results and special reporting requests. Assist with business modeling as needed.
? Ensure integrity of computerized data and improve the efficiency of systems as needed.
? Work in partnership with the outside audit firm on all auditing and tax matters
? Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
? Responsible for payroll and JE for all Harvest entities
? Responsible for Bank Reconciliations for all Harvest entities
? Proactively review internal processes and implement improvements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
? Strong excel and computer skills
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Ability to work with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting
