As a designer & developer, you live and breathe building awesome websites and digital experiences. You love writing clean, scalable code. You have the desire to delight clients, a willingness to be part of a great team, and a dedication to delivering top-tier design and clean code.

THE ROLE

You will design and develop responsive, accessible, SEO optimised websites from design through to testing, launch and ongoing maintenance. You are an experienced WordPress developer who has strong design and technical skills, is a keen problem solver, and is extremely self-motivated.

As a Designer & Developer, your skills and perspective will help ensure all our projects meet high standards of best practice, innovation, and user experience. We are passionate about all things digital and encourage you to indulge your passions, get creative, and feel free to experiment and Upgrade to see actual info this role, you will:

• Wireframe and design websites, managing client feedback in the process.
• Build websites and web applications using contemporary technologies and methodologies, prioritising efficiency, readability, reusability, and systems-oriented thinking.
• Use your excellent communication skills to coordinate the development of full-scale projects and collaborate with stakeholders from various backgrounds, including design, digital marketing, and UX.
• Coordinate each project and work closely with clients, managing requests and deadlines while balancing technical and creative outcomes.
• Manage website hosting and routine maintenance.
• Work with the Managing Director to keep projects on track and within budget.
• Bring your knowledge of website design and development, best practices, SEO, and user experience, and act as a thought leader on all thing’s webs.
• Keep up with trends and help create new ones too.
• Contribute to the evolution of our products, systems, and processes.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
• Solve problems and help your team solve them too.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We measure experience by ability, not years. We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge of the following:
• HTML5
• PHP
• CSS3 (plus SASS or LESS)
• JavaScript (ES6 or jQuery)
• SQL
• Git
• WordPress
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Collaborative design software (Figma, Sketch or InVision)
• eCommerce (particularly WooCommerce, Shopify or Craft)

In addition, you will also have experience with:

• Hosting setup and management
• FTP
• Browser testing
• WCAG2.0 Accessibility
• SEO best practices
• Integrating third-party APIs

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Strong communication skills with colleagues and clients
• Be able to follow direction as well as provide guidance on project decisions
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliver against client objectives
