STATEMENT OF WORK:
Strategic Growth Diagnostic Analysis Process
Business Requirements:
Currently, the data is collected via the manual setup of a Survey Monkey Survey instrument. The SAMPLE instrument is located here:
Once the data is collected, it is downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet and the data is analyzed and manually manipulated to produce a report that is shared with the client.
Effectively, I am looking for the development of a web application with a branded GUI, an underlying database, and a report writing engine.
The operation of the application should be as follows:
1. Administration Panel – Company information is set up in the Administration Panel by an application administrator. This admin panel has fields for:
a. Company Name
b. Company Address
c. Company Website URL
d. CEO/Contact Name
e. CEO/Contact
f. CEO/Contract Phone Number
g. A checkbox that would allow the Administrator to override the Enrollment form and Fill it out, if necessary.
h. If the “override” box in (g) above is not checked, then a link to the enrollment form is automatically sent via
i. A “Submit” button.
2. Enrollment Form – Once the “Submit” button in item (i) above is clicked, as long as the “override” button in item (g) above is not clicked, the Enrollment Form will be automatically sent via
The first section of the enrollment form includes fields for the names, roles and
• Name
• Job Role
•
The remaining questions in the enrollment form are the same questions, in the same order, currently located in Section 7 (the last section) of the SGD-SAMPLE Survey.
A “Save” Button that will allow the completer to Save the form in a partially completed state and return to the form at a later date, using the same link.
A “Submit” button completed by the creator of the Enrollment Form.
3. Automated Assessment (Survey) Distribution – Once the “Submit” button is completed by the Enrollment Form creator, an automated
The questions in the Diagnostic are precisely the same questions included in Sections 1-6 of the following Survey Instrument:
Current Manual Analysis and Reporting Process:
The following information describes the manual process that is used to download, analyze, and generate the output reports for the Client completing the Strategic Growth Diagnostic (SGD). Ultimately, we will want to have this report automatically generated following completion of the SGD.
1.) Create a folder in shared drive specifically for the Company completing the SGD and name it as such.
2.) Export the Client Company’s Survey Monkey SGD Output Report File in Excel format.
a. Open up Survey
b. Click on “Analyze Results”
c. Select “Save As”
d. Select “Export File”
e. Select “All Summary Data”
f. Chose “XLS” format
g. Select “Start each question on a new page”
h. Select “open-ended responses”
i. Click “Export”
3.) Save exported file into Company folder and name it: “Company Name – CONFIDENTIAL – Strategic Growth Diagnostic – Raw”
4.) (Optional) You may also insert the Survey Monkey file into a tab in the SGD Analysis Report Template Excel file.
5.) Place the SGD Analysis Report Excel File in Company’s folder and name the Excel file for the Company: “Strategic Growth Diagnostic Report – Company Name.” This is the file you’ll be working with mostly.
6.) Review the information provided by the CEO in the last section of the SGD (Industry, Annual Revenues, Net Margin, etc.)
7.) Download the appropriate Industry Benchmark report in pdf format from BizMiner and save into the Company folder as
8.) Review the Survey Monkey SGD Output Report and for each “five point scale” rating question, insert the total number of 4 (Agree) and 5 (Strongly Agree) ratings (combined) for each question into the proper section in Column C of the SGD Analysis
Example: Of seven total responses, only two chose the rating “4 (agree)” and one chose the rating “5 (strongly agree).” 2 + 1 = 3. 3/7 = 42.86%
9.) If 74.50% or greater, shade the box Green; if 69.50 to 74.40%, shade the box yellow. If below 69.50%, shade the box Red.
10.) Do this for every “rating” question in the Survey Monkey Output Report.
11.) Once each section is completed, ensure that the overall average for that section is properly calculated and shaded according to #5 above (called “Category Score” in Column G).
12.) In each section, go to the question that asks for a “percent growth rate” (usually the last question in each section. Enter the range of responses in the last cell in Column B of each
13.) The Financial Impact cell in Column G of each section is calculated using the “average potential growth percent” for each section, multiplied by the total annual revenue from cell B95. This is the total potential financial impact of addressing the deficiencies in this section, as suggested by the Diagnostic respondents.
14.) Move to tab two of the spreadsheet, called “Potential ROI Analysis.” This is the summary output report. Take the following actions:
a. Enter the average “favorability rating” for each section into Cells B2-B7 (automate)
b. Enter the Company Revenue into Cell G2 (automate from prior page).
c. Enter the Company Net Income into Cell H2. (automate from prior page)
d. Enter the Financial Impact from Column G in each section into Cells C2-C7 (automate)
15.) Now go back to the Survey Monkey SGD Output
16.) Go through each section and highlight in Green the “Positive” Comments for those questions.
17.) Once all of the positive highlights have been identified, perform some thematic analysis on those and combine and summarize the key “themes” on the “Key Strength Themes” tab of the SGD Analysis Report excel file.
18.) Once the Key Strengths Themes have been identified and summarized, go through each section and highlight in Yellow the “Negative” or “Constructive” Comments for those questions.
19.) Once all of the negative or constructive highlights have been identified, perform some thematic analysis on those and combine and summarize the key “themes” on the “Key Weakness Themes” tab of the SGD Analysis Report excel file.
20.) The SGD Analysis Report is now completed. Be sure to save your work in the proper shared drive.
21.) In that shared drive, there should be at least three files. All files should be named appropriately and should include the Company Name in the File Name.
a. The SGD Analysis Report Excel File
b. The Survey Monkey SGD Output Report Excel File
c. The BizMiner Industry Benchmark Report pdf file.
d. Optional other “working documents” that you used in your analysis.
