Technical Writer

We are looking for someone who is passionate about writing, learning and open source technologies, someone who shares our vision of building communities to educate the millions of users around the world who will utilize our tutorials, along with helping build our internal documentation programs.


This is a Remote Position, with Phoenix and Dallas office positions for local applicants.


What you’ll be doing:

Write and edit articles on open source topics for our community and our team
Help us build our internal and external knowledge base
Maintain existing articles by updating content where appropriate
Co-ordinate to ensure topic coverage and avoid overlaps with duplicate articles
Assist teams with documentation tasks
Produce and Evaluate

Requirements:

Experience working on the linux command line in a server environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience we would like you to have:

Linux knowledge, including: Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD
Databases including: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
CMS Systems: Wordpress. Joomla!, Ghost, etc
Web Servers: NGinx, Apache
Frameworks: Python, Go, Javascript, Ruby, Node Etc
Misc: Git, backups, DNS, Load balancing, Security, VPN, Git etc
