Backend Developer: Python

THE ROLE

You will be the detail-oriented, reliable Back End Development part of our development team of five, working to enhance and advance our in-house and client-facing web application. The local team is currently remotely based within Metro Manila and the teams we support are based in Brisbane, Australia. So you will need excellent English and work to Australian times (two hours ahead of Manila). Our systems manager is based in Brisbane and our team leader in Manila. We see this as a long term business application and so are looking for people who want permanent employment to reward their commitment and skill.

WORK HOURS:

Mondays - Fridays 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, following Australian Holidays (means regular work on Philippine holidays)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, test and deploy API endpoints, scripts, and other backend components
Design and extend database structure
Contribute to converting existing python application from version 2 to version 3 (new code in python 3)
Debug existing web application and implement appropriate solutions
Front end and browser debugging
Convert a legacy application from PHP to Python 3

* At least 5 years experience in back end development in the aforementioned core skills.
